The main crew for The Ship 2020 have discussed this long and hard between ourselves but also with our host Viking line (the company owner behind the ship Cinderella) and our sponsors.
We have seen a number of large Airsoft events being cancelled or postponed in regards to the Corona virus. The Swedish government has banned gatherings larger than 50 people and this have raised our concerns in regards to The Ship 2020. The Finnish government has also decided to continue to keep the country’s borders closed until May 13, 2020. This means Viking Line extends the traffic stop for passenger transport and cruises until the same date.
The last weeks we have looked at all these circumstances combined very seriously and has kept ourselves updated in its development as well as shifts in recommendations from the Swedish government and health care experts.
Because of all above we today have taken the hard decision to postpone the event until 2021. Your safety is our main concern and that’s one of the main reasons we have taken this decision. We will continue the planning of the event for next year with the goal to create a very unique experience on board. As soon as we have a new date we will put it out there.
All players who have purchased a game package will have their money refunded from Viking Line. Though due to prevailing circumstances with major changes to bookings, reimbursement of travel will take longer than normal. We therefore ask you to have compassion on this process. Cancellations can be made via phone +46 (0)8-452 40 00. ( provide your reservation number )
The Airsoft community has a large impact on a lot of people’s lives and the crew behind The Ship will continue to expand our unique platform of Airsoft games and our connection within the world of Airsoft.
